Ave Maria, Collier County
Demolition in Ave Maria
Ave Maria was founded in 2005 at Oil Well and Camp Keais Roads by Barron Collier Companies and the Ave Maria Foundation. Almost nothing here is old, so demolition tends to mean a builder's site or an accessory structure, not a worn-out house.
The town sits in eastern Collier County, about thirty-six miles east-northeast of Naples, and its development is capped by county rules at about five thousand acres after a 2023 expansion. Ave Maria University opened on a temporary campus in 2003 and welcomed students to its permanent campus in 2007. A place this young has few tear-downs.
What does come down are the pieces of an active build: sales offices, temporary structures, fences, screen enclosures and the occasional commercial building in the Town Center. A new owner who wants a lanai or a pool cage removed, or a commercial tenant space opened up, is a more typical request than a house.
A master-planned community has rules a regular neighborhood does not. Association approvals and design standards can govern what is removed and how the lot is left. We read them before we price, and we confirm the county as the permit office.

Start to finish
Six stages in a fixed order
Romco Builders is a licensed Florida general contractor, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale. These stages apply whether the job is a small shed or a large building.
Send the address and the scope
Ring us or use the quote form, and attach photos or drawings if you have them. Give the area, what has to go and what has to stay.
We walk the site
We visit the lot and look at the building, the utility connections, septic or sewer, the flood zone, how machines and trucks will get in, and the neighbors.
Written scope and quote
A written quote lists what comes out, what is shielded, and what leaves by truck. Anything that depends on a survey is marked.
Surveys, permit and disconnects
Required asbestos testing, utility shutoffs and septic abandonment happen here, and the permit goes to the office that covers your parcel.
Demolition and haul-off
The crew follows the agreed order of work. Debris is taken to permitted facilities, and load records are kept.
Final inspection
The permit is closed by the building department after its last inspection, leaving a clear lot or the shell you requested.
Questions
Demolition in Ave Maria
Do Ave Maria's association rules affect a demolition?
They can. A master-planned community may require approval for changes to a lot and set rules for contractors. Ask the association before you set a schedule.
What goes into the cost of a demolition?
A quote comes after we visit the property, or after we review photos and drawings that show enough. The price follows the building's materials and height, the asbestos survey, utility and septic work, how machines reach the lot, what stays, and where the debris goes. We do not publish prices, because two lots that look alike seldom cost alike.
What is done about asbestos before a demolition?
Testing comes first, by an independent licensed consultant, since the federal asbestos rule wants a thorough inspection ahead of a regulated demolition. Naples and Marco Island both say a survey is filed with the state environmental agency where asbestos is present. When material is found that the job would disturb, a licensed abatement firm takes it out. We schedule the two visits but never perform abatement.
How long until work can begin?
That cannot be answered honestly before the facts are in. The start moves with permit review at your office, notice periods like the fourteen days Naples gives neighbors, historic review, utility and septic paperwork, asbestos findings and the weather. We hand you the order of work, with each dependency named, once those are known.
