Mobile home demolition in Collier County
Mobile homes and trailers are a real part of Collier County's housing, from Immokalee to the fishing villages on the coast. Taking one out is not the same job as taking down a house.

In Immokalee, housing groups have described families sharing small trailers and shacks that were substandard even before Hurricane Irma. A unit like that may be unsafe to enter, and a single lot may hold several structures with different owners. Who owns what, and what the permit office needs, is settled before a crew goes in.
Park lots add a layer. Water, electric and sewer may be shared with neighbors, and the park's management decides when machines may move through. The owner and the utility are involved so that disconnecting one unit does not touch the next.
Older units can contain asbestos in flooring or siding, and storm-damaged ones hold water and mold. A survey comes first, and the removal order follows from it.
The park name if there is one, the unit's size and a few photos are what we need, along with the address. The permit office and the park's rules are confirmed before the scope is written.
Order of work
- Confirmation of the permit office and the park's rules
- Asbestos survey
- Utility disconnects and caps
- Permit filing, if one applies
- Unit removed, with metal frames and axles pulled for recycling
- Pad, tank and attachments cleared as scoped
- Haul, grading and permit closeout
Common snags
What tends to hold these jobs up, and our answer to each
Utilities shared across a park
A unit may share service with its neighbors. The utility or park disconnects it without affecting the others.
Units too risky to enter
Standing water, mold and failed framing make going inside dangerous, so testing and a removal plan precede any crew.
Older siding and flooring
Both may hold asbestos. A licensed consultant tests, and a licensed firm takes out whatever has to go.
Several parties on one lot
More than one owner may have a say. Who signs is confirmed before work starts.
Where our role ends
Shutting off services is up to the utilities and licensed trades. Whoever owns the park or lot decides who may work there. Any question over the unit's title or registration stays with its owner and the state.
Questions
About mobile home demolition
Can you remove a trailer that has been damaged by a storm?
Yes. A damaged unit is surveyed first, since it may hold water, mold and weak framing, and the removal is planned around what the survey shows.
Does removing a mobile home need a permit?
Often. The office that covers your parcel sets the rule, and a park may add its own. We confirm before pricing.
What goes into the cost of a demolition?
A quote comes after we visit the property, or after we review photos and drawings that show enough. The price follows the building's materials and height, the asbestos survey, utility and septic work, how machines reach the lot, what stays, and where the debris goes. We do not publish prices, because two lots that look alike seldom cost alike.
Is there a size limit on the jobs you price?
No limit. Sheds, pools, slabs and single walls get a quote, and so do whole buildings, selective or structural. Describe what stands on the lot and what must stay, and the price follows that description.
Is Romco Builders licensed?
Yes. Romco Builders is a Florida-licensed general contractor with headquarters in Fort Lauderdale. Some tasks need a license or permit of their own, among them asbestos abatement, electrical disconnects, septic abandonment and tree removal. Those go to the firms or agencies with that authority, and we fit them into a single schedule.
Start to finish
Six stages in a fixed order
Send the address and the scope
Ring us or use the quote form, and attach photos or drawings if you have them. Give the area, what has to go and what has to stay.
We walk the site
We visit the lot and look at the building, the utility connections, septic or sewer, the flood zone, how machines and trucks will get in, and the neighbors.
Written scope and quote
A written quote lists what comes out, what is shielded, and what leaves by truck. Anything that depends on a survey is marked.
Surveys, permit and disconnects
Required asbestos testing, utility shutoffs and septic abandonment happen here, and the permit goes to the office that covers your parcel.
Demolition and haul-off
The crew follows the agreed order of work. Debris is taken to permitted facilities, and load records are kept.
Final inspection
The permit is closed by the building department after its last inspection, leaving a clear lot or the shell you requested.
